I booked a one way ticket SFO-HKG-SIN-MNL online. Called in to get a stopover in HKG and SIN. The agent said that he was able to give me a stopover in SIN but not in HKG. He said that the SFO-HKG flight is now wait-listed and that my ticket was booked as SFO-SIN / SIN-MNL. I asked if he could just cancel my itinerary and rebook since I already had the SFO-HKG. He said no, that if my ticket is canceled that my seat may go to someone on the wait list.
So if you book an award ticket with SQ and have a married segment that you want changed do they have to release this back into inventory in order to make changes? They are saying they cannot keep one segment and change the other segments. It sounds like they are are not able to split the SFO-HKG-SIN? Any ideas or tips on how I can get a stopover in HKG?
