Online Redemptions: Backtracking and Error Messages

I'm sure everyone knows the annoying error messages on sq.com when a routing is supposed to be backtracking, sometimes it says 'route not offered'.

Is this just a bug and you can book it over the phone (incl getting the online discount applied / classes mixed) ?

It doesn't make sense to me that you can't book NRT-SIN-BKK or things like that.

I usually call to book SGN-SIN-NRT with online discount. It's valid in award chart and shown as backtrack in online booking. Bookable as revenue. Sometimes I need to argue for it, sometimes not.

Same case with mixed class award - I call to book and insist on online booking discount.
