Is there a quick guide as to how one books redemption flights on SQ, how to search for availability and general tips.

I have set up my Krisflyer account and have no miles in it. My plan would be to transfer in some AMEX membership rewards points to cover a saver suite flight LHR SYD over Christmas 2015. Yes, I know to set my expectations accordingly over a peak period, but thought it worth a look.

Log into your KF account, then click "plan and book", then "redeem award flights" (in the Search flights" window.

i don't think the singaporeair.com website can search availability over a period of days, you just have to click "next day" etc until you find what you want. good luck!
