  • What should I do with 300K miles?

Hi, I just accumulated 300K krisflyer miles

I go on business trip, meaning do not have time to upgrade seats to a higher tier, because trips are booked ahead 1-2 days beforehand by company which is too short notice for SQ to do seat upgrade

I have 300K miles and points keep expiring without me having the time to use the krisflyer miles

I like to spend my vacation back in Singapore with family though

if only I could redeem krisflyer miles for SGD$

any suggestions on how I can use the krisflyer miles effectively?

Redeem them for friends or family as nominees? Or get them to pay you for a really cheap holiday

Raptor, firstly you can book well ahead for a vacation with the family. Look ahead to at least 5-6 months forward and book redemption.

Secondly, the moment you book a biz trip, immediately try to get a redemption upgrade. Sometimes you may be in luck even if it's 2 days ahead.

It's just to wasteful to let the miles go unclaim. BTW, you can also extend the life of your miles by 6 months, though that'll cost you some miles or some cash.

First post and trying to sell miles... Guys: Never transfer money to Western Union and the like. You will never see any miles!

          An astute observation indeed.

With the miles you've already got - redeem them! There must be somewhere in the world you would like to travel?

For future mileage earning, why not credit some of your flights to a *A partner program that allows miles to be donated to charitable causes? I know Avianca/Taca LifeMiles offers this, but I'm sure there would be others. You can still use the miles for *A redemptions, but any that you don't want to use could be donated to charity. It has to be better than letting them expire.

I am in banking and I am just giving my fellow SQ Talkers some good advice.

Some deals are too good to be true.
