Hello
I was about to book an intercontinental flight with Air China, class S. Standing to the fare rules I am entitled to earn miles.
When I double checked on SQ Accrual Levels
( http://www.singaporeair.com/pdf/ppsc...FOALLevels.pdf )
I realised that SQ does not recognise miles from class S of Air China. As well as many other 50% classes of other airlines.
As you can see here ( http://www.miles-and-more.com/online...l=en&cid=18002 )
Lufthansa does accept those miles, as the other star alliance members.
Furthermore during my investigations I have also found this some other surprising information:
If you book an SQ flight with fares giving 50% and 10% of miles, those miles are not recognised to staralliance partners.
this is taken from the online booking system flight fares details:
"No KrisFlyer miles will be earned under booking classes N, Q, T, V for members of other frequent flyer programmes. "
I just wonder why Singapore Airlines remains in star alliance if they do not want to share the same rules.
Comments are welcome.
