  • Krisflyer Membership expires?

I received the following email. In what circumstance do Krisflyer memberships expire? this seems rather unusual for an FFP...

Thank you for being a member of KrisFlyer and we hope you have enjoyed the benefits of your membership. As your KrisFlyer membership will expire on 01/05/2012, your current membership number will no longer be valid after that time.

To continue to enjoy all the benefits as a KrisFlyer member, we would like to suggest a few ways in which you can prevent your KrisFlyer account from expiring:

??? Fly on Singapore Airlines or SilkAir

??? Earn miles through any of our partners before expiration of your account. For example, you can transfer your credit card reward points to KrisFlyer miles, stay at participating hotels or rent a car to earn KrisFlyer miles. For a complete list of KrisFlyer partners, please click here. Or visit our promotions page to check out the latest partner promotions.

To ensure your KrisFlyer miles are credited to your account, please don't forget to show your KrisFlyer membership card when you check-in or use our partners' services.

If you decide to re-enrol as a KrisFlyer member after your current account has expired, please note that you will be assigned a new KrisFlyer membership number.

If you need assistance or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by calling the number most convenient for you.

Thank you once again and we hope to see you onboard Singapore Airlines and/or SilkAir soon.

    Yours sincerely,
    KrisFlyer Membership Services

Nothing unusual for dormant FFP accounts to be deleted.

Everything expires. If you think about it, even LPP expires.

Ah I see 36 months after last activity. In that case, does expiry of the final miles count as activity?

Don't be surprised. I didn't fly with SQ for a three and a half year period, and I had to get a new KF account because my old one had expired, although they still know my old number (not happy about that because of id theft possibilities. )

                Life's A Bitch,
                Love It

If GOD created me for only 1 reason. That reason would be to the love of my wife. If there was any other reasons involved, that would be for the love of Singapore Airlines
