  • TLV under which zone?

Was watching a show about Israel and it got Mrs inix all fired up and wanting to go Israel. Anyone have any idea which zone would Israel fall under since it could be Europe or Middle East...

Has anyone actually done any such redemptions before? Cheers.

I would place it squarely in the ME.

And I would agree, that Israel is beautifully raw, historically and spiritually bitter sweet and if you've time, include Jordan.

I don't know for SQ but LH used to treat it as Europe so you could upgrade to business for 15,000 miles or one e-voucher but still get the full international business class on the 747.

LH still treat it as Europe, but only if you are resident in Israel and you start and end your travels from there. This also applies to a few other countries in the MENA region.

SQtraveller, thanks for the advise. If rumors is to be believed, I understand that one can actually request for the immigration not to stamp on their passports to facilitate entries to other countries.

This also seems to be the way that how some Malaysians actually gain entry into the country despite their passport officially saying that its not allowed...

Inix, Malaysians need to obtain a special visa - which is a few pages thick in a separate document. At the border checkpoint, you need to remind the officer not to stamp the passport - going in, going out. A forgetful officer will cost you.

Well, recently I just got sabotaged by a "forgetful" Malaysian immigration officer who didn't stamp my passport when I am going to Brunei from West Malaysia. It meant that I had to redo my passport with a trip to Malaysia within the next 7 days....
