My KF account is going to expire!

After 2.5 years of inactivity, I just received an e-mail saying that my KF account will expire next May.

I didn't know about that but looking at the T&C, it seems accounts which have had any activity expire 36 months after the last activity and accounts which have never had any activity expire 18 months after acount creation.

I suppose I may think about transferring across a hard earned SPG point to my KF account (which I emptied out exactly down to zero at the time of the PPS enhancements a few years ago) to keep it alive for another 36 months.

I saw that this forum had a similar thread starter question, but my situation is different... My KF membership is reaching 3 years in June 2012, so does that mean that my membership will end then too? I have holidays plans already for the rest of 2012, so I don't know if I can use up my 60,000 miles then.. Is there anyway I can keep them for later? Or will I have to use up these miles by booking a trip before my membership expires?

Also, I heard you can extend the expiry of membership? So does that mean, e.g. I can extend my membership for 6 months, and during those 6 months earn more miles?

Membership only expires if there is 3 years of inactivty, not at the third anniversary of you account. Miles expire 3 years after earning if not used but you can extend the life of the miles by one year by paying in cash or miles.
