Unexpected Status upgrade

Wondering whether this has happened to anyone but I was 6000 miles short of getting Elite Gold status and two days ago I had an email from SQ welcoming me to another year of Silver..but just now I had an email welcoming to Elite Gold?! Logged into my SQ account and it says Elite Gold?

Has anyone been upgraded like this?
