I have a mixed class economy flight to Singapore to Chennai and return business class Chennai to Singapore. There is no fare split on the ticket. How is PPS value determined?

What probably isn't shown on your ticket is the fare construction.

Your ticket is constructed from 2 "NUC's" added together - An NUC is basically the base fare from your origin to the point where the journey is first broken, In this case MAA. This is added to the NUC from that break point to wherever else you are going, in this case, your origin SIN, which by airline standards is a fairly simple routing.

SIN-MAA is a separate NUC from MAA-SIN. For PPSV - only the NUC from MAA-SIN will count since the SIN-MAA leg is in Y.

Mixed class fare quote I received is SGD1395 taxes 293.

From what you are telling me I would receive 2404PPS Points for the all business class and 1202 points for the mixed economy/business. Implying that the NUC for SIN-Chennai economy is approx SGD200 and the Chennai-SIN is SGD1202.

Is that correct?

Roughly yes - that would be on the assumption that for point of sale Singapore, a round trip Business class NUC is precisely double that of a one way, however, what isn't clear is if the booking code changes because of you buying a mixed class fare vs a round trip all J fare (which could be a promo)

My business class round trip is J class and the quoted mixed is economy E and business J.

So if anything the number of PPS Value points that I will receive for the one way J Business class would be the same or higher than 1/2 of the return J Business class

Yes, that is likely when RT J promos tend to cost less than 2 times of one way J full fares.
