According to Singapore Airlines Group's annual report for the year ended March 31, 2021, Scoot will add ten A321-251NXs by the end of March 2022. The low-cost carrier of the group has six aircraft on firm order from Airbus (including the two already delivered), while the remaining four will most likely come from lessors. Back in 2019, Scoot planned to add up to sixteen A321neo, including six from the manufacturer and ten from lessors, with deliveries scheduled to commence in late 2020.
NX suffix represents the new spaceflex exit configuration with 2 overwing exits and the mid size exit towards the aft of the fuselage. Spaceflex is Airbus new configuration for A321 where by the galley at the back are halved, both lavatories at the aft are moved to beside the galley, side by side. Both toilets are collapseable to one big toilet for people with special needs. https://leehamnews.com/2015/01/18/a3...20-production/
The NX allows airlines to carry more pax (max at 240), while the non-NX only allows max 220 pax. Although some airlines like BA has the spaceflex config but with one overwing exit deactivated, thus carry lesser passengers.
ANA All Nippon Airlines has the last A321-272N on order, the rest will be all NX configured.

NX also has about 700kg less cargo capacity, with a limited rear (bulk) cargo hold compared to the N.
Max NX capacity is 244 pax with C* - (III-III)+ - C - C* door config.
Max N capacity is 230 pax with C* - C - C - C* door config.

Ah - Thank you for the detailed reply. I hadn't realised. Thanks for taking the time to explain, it's much appreciated.
I don't think anyone has gone to 244 pax on the A321neo though. IIRC Cebu Pacific went to 242!
Thank you for the correction. I have totally lost track what is the most updated edition after the last revision.
Yes, the newest approved A321NX is 244!!
A321N is now 230..
Yes, no one has gone 244 max capacity yet, so far the highest is 240. I did a bit of digging, below are the list of A321 operators with highest config density:
Vietjet has all three configurations 220, 230, 240
Viva Aerobus 240
Wizz Air 239
Cebu Pacific and AirAsia has 236 [Cebu plans to reconfig to 242 but haven't been implemented yet I think]
Volaris 230
I have been on board AirAsia's pre-COVID19 Not a very nice experience for a 178cm tall chap. My house ironing board has more cushion than the metal frame they put on those A321NX!
Next destination: Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City in August
Plus point: Scoot has installed an extra washroom at Row 40, making a total of four. AirAsia has three seats at same area, only has three washrooms, same total seats 236. https://www.airasia.com/aa/inflight-.../gb/seats.html
Very interesting statement by TR CEO: "During SIA's annual results briefing in May, Mr Wilson said that Scoot had sought to defer the delivery of the aircraft from lessors amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, but was unsuccessful."
