Yep agree and no here actually!

Weight is weight and if I weigh 80kgs and take 20kgs yet another passenger weights 110kgs and takes 20kgs it's not fair.

The only people that don't like this idea are fat people.

In some countries this idea will prompt slew of lawsuits.....i.e. discrimination against heavy or oversized people.

Are you a student? Students get 10 kilos no problem. Just let them know on check in and present a student card.

I recently returned from TPE in J cabin and with 3 pieces of check-in luggage @ 38.7kg, the nice lady didn't even bat an eyelid! When I glanced at her with a guilty look, she even nodded her head with her smile!

Another time when I returned from TPE in Y cabin, i had nearly 30kg with me too, and I have absolutely no status (even till now), I was let off merely with a verbal caution

Though perhaps I was the first to check-in for the 7 plus am flight, arriving @ the airport @ 5am, way before the counters opened....

First weight, what next? Height, gender, looks....?
God must have been a ship owner, he placed the raw materials far from where they are needed and covered two-thirds of the earth with water...

I don't think this is something that should be bragged about.

                    But good to know.

                          Economy,
25 kg at any station without any problems
30 kg at SIN after going through supervisor, but return they have always stopped at 25.

At KIX they will never give any extra baggage. As a *G 40kg is the absolute limit with bonus. I tried checkin 41, but they made me take out 1kg...i just carried it on

Isn't the limit 32kg per bag?

At JFK on January 10, SQ had a supervisor in the jetway checking the weight of carryon bags. I saw a few business class passengers being force to gate check roller bags that looked big but clearly would bit into the bins.
