Of course it's a restricted zone. If you're in my apartment, you're free to use the guest toilet. If someone else is using it and you walk through my bedroom and use my private toilet without my permission, I'll throw you out on the street and you'll never be welcome again. On the other hand, if you ask politely, I'll probably grant permission.

Business class seating and your bedroom are entirely different things. So what you are saying is that in business class everyone is sleeping in your bed.

If said passenger had asked the cabin crew in advance telling them why he had to go in an emergency, instead of just walking to the loo, it might have been ok. I've had situations when I asked the crew first, and usually its fine.

You seem to have ignored the FACT that he didn't explain his emergency situation - either before or after. By his own admission, all the chap was able to say was a feeble "OK"...

How, then, is anyone to deduce that he was seconds from spurting poo all over his fellow pax, if he didn't explain so himself???

In that context, how is he to be differentiated from any other opportunistic EYCL pax who was looking for a quick fix in a loo he was not entitled to use???

It's really a travesty of justice that this fellow has not been prosecuted for criminal trespass. If his own story is true, he violated the rights of passengers who paid a lot of money to have lavatories available and he should be punished for violating their rights.

Also remember that we are only seeing HIS version of the story. The crew probably told him nicely, he did not like it and cooked up his "scolding" story.

When I am in Y Class I only use Y toilets. If super urgent, then ask the crew for permission first. They do understand. I was in C Class once and the toilets were full. The crew actually then asked me to use the F toilets, stating that the F load was light and both were available so did not mind me using one of them (even though I was not urgent and did not even ask).

Good service is a 2-way thing. I always get it because I try to be nice to the crew and it always works. Greeting them when boarding, trying to remember their names (the crew do thank me for that), smiling at them, etc, just being nice, and guess what, they are always willing to go the extra mile for me. I do see pax esp in C class appearing to be demanding or difficult and then getting "pretty average" service.... you get what you ask for.

Liquid poo is never fun, if he did have an emergency sometimes all you can do is run to any available toilet. I am sure it's not just me who has burst into my apartment and removed pants and sat down at the same time with a huge sigh of relief. If I had to ask permission to do that I would have been in trouble.

Economy, business, first, whatever, we are not talking about breaking into restricted zones, we are human beings and should be treated with respect. Unless the guy was being rude and ungrateful there is no reason for someone to follow him back to his seat and standover him.

I've flown business a few times at my own cost as a present to myself, I hope I never bump into some of the elite attitudes shown in this thread.

If we go off your fantasy land way of thinking, then people in Economy are not being treated with respect so they can use the Suites, and have the food/beverage of Business, First, Suites, or whatever they want as they are no being treated with respect...

Ticketing = Using the toilet in your cabin that you have paid for. Which most decent airlines enforce and should continue to enforce

Oh yeah a "one off" I wonder how many people pull the "I really need the toilet desperately" routine in order so they don't wait.

What I find more interesting is the crew behaviour - staring him down etc.

If a passenger needs to be enlightened, there is a more professional way to deliver. It brings to mind one incident where my foot protruded slightly out to the ailse & almost tripped the flight attendant.

The prolonged glare I received, despite my profuse apologies, makes me wonder what happened to the Singapore Girls of yore.
