Yep the class divdie is great with first/business/economy

The A340 with Singapore is good though, you wouldn't have this problem there

I can't believe it's sparked on this much of a debate... Still, provides quite a bit of entertainment on an otherwise boring Wednesday night (ok, Thursday morning)...

Oh yeah a "one off" I wonder how many people pull the "I really need the toilet desperately" routine in order so they don't wait.

All these people with all these "stomach bugs"

Perhaps they should maintain better personal hygiene and eat in more reputable locations. That or wear a nappy!
Yeah that's right, cos it's happening all the time. You guys in business / first / suites probably would never have noticed it.

If someone stared me down in my seat, even after scolding me, I would be making a complaint. That's just an ego, nothing else.

Sometimes the meal carts there do prove a hindrance, so pax do not even know they are not allowed to use the business class toilets, so they just go through the curtains and use the JCL toilets there, there is no galley at that area, just the closet, so most of the time there is no FA there.

There was the drinks cart, which should have at least 1 FA there (2 FAs usually) and 2 FA (I assume by crew members, he means FA) near the toilet. And he refused to open his golden mouth and ask.

    Excerpts below:
"After take-off, the crew started to serve drinks to the passengers. I suddenly developed a stomach ache and had to use the toilets. I stood up and saw that the toilets behind me were being used and there were other passengers waiting in line for them. I was also blocked by the drinks cart which was between me and the toilets.

    ....

"Before entering the toilet, I saw two crew members near the toilet who did not stop me going in. After I had finished, I exited the toilet and started walking back to my seat.

Noticed at times on the A380 EYCL upper deck, some pax (normally seated at rows 71-75) will go & use the 2 lavatories at the business class, even though the curtains are cordoned off but you will still see pax trying to open the curtain & going through without being discovered.

That's why the man was angry for being scolded. If he had used a toilet with golden seats and taps with showers etc, he might have that the scolding was worth it.
For golden toilets, we need to learn from the Bruneians probably

What I find more interesting is the crew behaviour - staring him down etc.

If a passenger needs to be enlightened, there is a more professional way to deliver. It brings to mind one incident where my foot protruded slightly out to the ailse & almost tripped the flight attendant.

The prolonged glare I received, despite my profuse apologies, makes me wonder what happened to the Singapore Girls of yore.

    Yeh right

If I had to ask permission to do that I would have been in trouble.

Economy, business, first, whatever, we are not talking about breaking into restricted zones, we are human beings and should be treated with respect. Unless the guy was being rude and ungrateful there is no reason for someone to follow him back to his seat and standover him.

I've flown business a few times at my own cost as a present to myself, I hope I never bump into some of the elite attitudes shown in this thread.
