  • Letter of indemnity

I'm currently in London, and I intend to redeem miles for my 14yr old child who is in KUL to fly to SIN. AFAIK I need to fill up a letter of indemnity for him but I'm in LON now so would it be possible for my wife to fill it up for him? Also what if they ask for my credit card or KF card? Last time I flew an award flight they needed my KF card upon checkin

    Thanks

    I did SIN-LHR when I was 17. Used a relative's FF miles to travel.

Wasn't asked for credit card or KF card. Mother came along in case a letter of indemnity needed to be signed, but was told by counter staff that it wasn't necessary.

You should be able to sign the letter of indemnity at any SQ office around the world. I signed one at the MEL office for a pax who was departing ex-SIN, though this was for a revenue booking. I was required to produce a copy of the credit card used to purchase the ticket along with photo ID. I imagine that you'd also need to show the ticket office your KF card for a mileage redemption. Said pax checked in at SIN without a hitch.

I cant recall what exactly happened last year when my 13yr old niece was flying solo FRA-SIN. If memory serves me right though, someone in the destination sountry would need to sign the indemnity form, like you wife. But I could be wrong. I'd suggest calling up SQ to double check on this- probably the KUL office since that's where she's departing from. I remember SQ in FRA and SIN was telling me different things the last time around.

This happened once, but my father went to the Singapore Office whilst flying ex Delhi, and I was allowed to check-in in Delhi. They did ask once to produce a credit card, but I said that it was produced in Singapore already, after which they said alright

So would a copy of my KF and credit card do the trick along with the letter of indemnity?
