  • SQ2 - 380, 744?

Any chance SQ2 will be getting the 744 back, or the A380?

Also, when the 787-9 comes in, is there a possibility to do SFO-SIN direct?

There was a discussion about whether it would revert back to a 744 here

Thanks for that. Would the SFO-SIN direct be possible with the 787-9 when it comes to market?

According to wiki then the 787-9 has a range of about 14,800 - 15,700 km.
The distance as the crow flies is 13,600.

So in theory, yes. but of course its not that simple, you have to take into account prevailing winds and allow enough fuel to divert due to bad weather (for example).

So, If you look at the boeing range charts for the 777 http://www.boeing.com/commercial/777..._singapore.pdf
then you can see that even the -300ER can do this trip. But if you look the other way, http://www.boeing.com/commercial/777...7_range_la.pdf then only -200LR can make the return journey without a stop.

So, not being a pilot and unable to gain access to more information then I would say that it might be possible, but it will be tight. Of course it will also depend on the configuration and weight of the aircraft fully loaded, and only SQ know their plans at this stage.
