yes esp LCCs like air asia pilots do usually an average a min of 4 sectors a day - unlike like SQ whose pilots may even get to do at most on average 2 sectors a day for short-medium haul or 2 sectors per week for a mediumto long haul.
However for LCCs - like AK there is a management guide that their pilots perform "soft" landings weather permitting so as to extend the life of the aircraft tires - and this have even been stated by its CEO before. But overall my experience is that AK CPT's do a good job at greasing the landings - and oh i am not a malaysian. The worst landing i encountered was 3 yrs back on CX when the pilot dropped the 744 down so hard in BKK that most of the oxygen masks dropped out as a result

Despite the bad weather coming into Singapore this morning on SWE, I had one of the smoothest landing ever. Good job to the captain!

I have shares of bad landings and good landings across all airlines. The worst landing I have experienced is with KA flying into PVG. Not only did the captain slammed it hard down the runway, he also braked so hard several times while taxiing to the gate.

Wouldn't happen to be Malaysian by any chance would you ?.

I must try this special sleepy tarmac they have just installed at KUL...
Nope, Aussie here mate and the "sleepy tarmac" doesnt apply to SQ flights. I know it sounds ridiculous but as I said, 7/10 SQ landings I've experienced were harder/louder than any other airlines. OK, enuff said *peace*

Not sure if anyone of you had seen this SQ A380 landing in NRT before?

I must agree that the landings on SQ are hard. I was amazed by MH landings when I flew them in Nov'09. Soft and quiet.

But I must say that on my recent 4 flts with SQ, they are hard but quiet. Only once did i swerved. Must be a newbie FO.
