  • Golf clubs excess baggage.

Hi guys. Off to Indonesia via Singapore on our fav airline. Hope to play some golf both in Singapore and Bali.

I looked at the website but am still unclear on charges. So, flying Y, if I take a golf gear weighing 14 kg, how much more can I check in as baggage. Is it only 6 kg or do I get and extra 5 kg's?

Someone must know. Thanks in advance.

Not sure - but you know, you could do what my dad used to do on his business trips. He'd bring a 5 iron and play one-clubbed, and typically shoot better scores than if he had all 14 clubs with him.

SQ allows 25 with ease and some agents even 30kg in SIN

If you do not want to pay any excess baggage then your other checked luggage needs to be a maximum of 6kg.

If you have up to 20kg of other checked baggage then you will only be charged the basic 6kg excess baggage for your golf gear (as the golf gear is under 15kg).

All this assumes no *G status (which gets an extra 20kg baggage allowance).

Irrelevant in this case. Special rules apply for sporting gear (and they are more generous than for passengers who don't travel with sporting gear).

Sorry to hijack your post. Just wondering if you could use you KrisFlyer airmiles to pay for excess baggage?

            Thanks

Not for SQ, though I do CX allows for it.
