  • LS or LSS in J Cabins?

Recently, I noted on 4 of my flights in the past Month that the J Class Cabin has a LS or LSS. Anyone noticed the same?

Could it be that SQ is trying to improve the service in the J Class cabin?

What aircraft type were you in? The ranking crew varies with aircraft type.

For A380, there will be at least 1 LS/LSS. Recently though, on the A380 HKG sector, on certain days there will be up to 2 LS/LSS in J class as they rostered additional 1 more crew to the A380 HKG sector making it 24 crew instead of the usual 23.

Can't afford the A380's R Class. Those were in J Class on B777-200 or B777-300 Regionals.

I was referring to the A380 J class.

As for the regional 772s & 773s, hmm...yes this is indeed rare, were your flights in J very full? Did you see any CS or CSS in J? If there is no CS/CSS, it is very likely the LS/LSS were the standbys being called up to replace the CS/CSS.

Alternatively, if the J class is full, the IFS may activate 1 more LS/LSS to assist, but this is rare.

sometimes they could be acting down as FS/FSS

Sorry was too quick in reading your post...was rushing out. All have the red ties or red kebayas in J. There was however one less Blue tie or Blue Kebaya in that cabin.

I see this happening much more often than in the past (where non-A380 J is usually served by CS(S) + FS(S)s). I asked an LS about this and she said that there is a shortage of FSS's now, thus on many flights they now have one or two LSS's serving in J.

                Lioncity,

Just to add on, if you were in the regional 772/772er with a 2 -class configuration, in J there will be an LS/LSS.

All the flights I was on were 3-Class configurations.

StarG seems to provide a reasonable answer that they have not enough FSS to serve the regional sectors. Many might gone over to IRs in Sentosa or downtown. The late reinstatement of pay cut of 10% might be a push factor although it is apparent to all that yield and load factor have gone back up.

                    cheers.

I should have used singular instead of plural. Yes, I meant only one red tie/red kebaya in J Cabin.

Not too sure about LSS/LSes (green) but shouldn't there be more than 1 in each cabin?

I always thought there'd be one CSS/CS (red) in each cabin.. or am I wrong?

on several A380 and 747 flights, i do see 1 red guy in J(upper deck) and 1 red lady in lower deck. Sometimes, its difficult to know the guy is in red tie as the tie colours are sometimes not obvious.
