Just curious because in the MNL-SIN flight and return, only English was used for announcements. However I understand other flights such as those involving NRT or KIX, they use Japanese. Do you know the other routes that use a 2nd or 3rd language?

All Japanese flights will have Japanese announcements.
Paris- French announcements
Frankfurt - German announcements
Zurich - Swiss annoucements
Korea - Korean announcements
All Hong Kong, Taipei & China flights - Chinese announcements
Can anyone else confirm for India flights if there are Indian announcements? Similarly how about for Rome, Milan (Italian) and Barcelona (Spanish) ?

Mandarin is easy for me to understand though.

On my AMS flight, the announcements were all pre-recorded in Dutch. On the flight from FRA, there was a Singapore Boy who made announcements in German, though it sounded quite weird because of his accent. Some of the Germans would rather speak English.

I am guessing the German announcement here is most likely live as it does not appear to be performed by a native speaker, which normally is featured on a pre-recorded announcement.

I recall a flight FRA-SIN where one FA performed the German announcements. As I was sitting in an emergency exit row, I could see the FA reading the announcement from a booklet. The written announcement in the booklet must have been some phonetic transcription only, as the German was utterly incomprehensibly.
I do not expect any Asian carrier to have German announcements done “live”. Sometimes a recorded message would help, as if the announcement is incomprehensibly it doesn’t help at all.
There are special Swiss announcements? Wow! SQ must be the only airline to have this. Swiss is (though actually the same language) quite different from German, but I never had a Swiss announcement on a foreign carrier. In fact there are so many German FAs working for SWISS, that even on SWISS flights you find FAs only speaking standard German.
