SINGAPORE: Passengers of Singapore Airlines may be affected by the ongoing four-day strike by Lufthansa pilots.
Responding to queries from Channel NewsAsia, close to 260 codeshare flights are expected to be affected over the period.
The strike by some 4,000 pilots has caused some 3,000 Lufthansa flights to be cancelled.
The German carrier now warns of delays both domestically and internationally.
Under codeshare agreements, SIA sells seats on another alliance partner's flight to its own passengers, thus increasing SIA's flight frequency to a destination.
Both SIA and Lufthansa are part of the Star Alliance, which has some 26 member airlines currently.
SIA is advising its customers to contact their travel agents or Lufthansa directly to make alternative arrangements for connecting flights.
The airline said it will waive administrative fees and penalties for refund or rerouting for customers holding confirmed tickets involving connecting and/or codeshare flights operated by Lufthansa which have been cancelled.
This applies to tickets issued on or before 18 February 2010 for travel on 22 to 25 February 2010.
The strike at Lufthsansa is expected to last until February 25.
