I did not receive it. I think they realised an "Ah Beng" liked me do not know how to appreciate the finer things in life like wine. I hope it is a genuine effort to improve the onboard experiences and not another cost cutting exercise.

Do you think a Bordeaux Red wine MUST be served on all SIA flights?

Hell, yes! How would they be regarded as the world's best airline otherwise?

I flew SQ F to/fro on SQ to PEK in Dec, didn't get this survey. Is it PPS or ex-PPS pax only?

They probably asked the crew to identify the pax who drank the most on the flight.

Anyone noted whether Bordeaux is still being served on the flights? I don't remembered seeing it in the past month or so when traveling in J. Perhaps I missed something.

                  SQ Wines

With respect to all, there is Bordeaux and there is Boredeaux. In F the Cos D'Estournel, of reasonable vintages, is OK. However, the French and Italian wine choices serves in SQ/C are already extremely poor.

IMHO, it would be better for SQ to credit the customer base with a little more sophistication, especially in F/C. There are many Chilean, Argentinian, Australian and South AFrican Cabernets/Malbecs/Merlots/Shiraz which, at a lower price point, are far better wines.

Do they still believe that their customers in F/C are so unsophisticated that they don't understand wine and would prefer a cheaper French wine to a wine from elsewhere of a better quality?

These SQ "Enhancements" to service never cease to amaze!!

Speaking of Argentinian reds, they were serving one in J in the last six months, I believe.

It was alright, but I got bored of it, so the last few months have seen me go back to ordering just bubbly.

Unless they are going to spring for decent Bordeaux, I disagree. I have rarely found Bordeaux's that are truly exciting below the $50 per bottle range. The wine world has moved on from Bordeaux. There are so many amazing and better wines that can be had for half that price. I mean if they are willing to truly seek out a good Bordeaux than fine, but I think they are trying to curb wine costs a little bit so they would be better suited to get wines from elsewhere.

Also, to be perfectly honest, the pleasures of a good Bordeaux are usually dampened on an airplane anyways. Once again, slightly lusher, less tannic wines would do better.

This reminds me of the fun I have on TG when I ask the crew why do they only ever have French wines in F and not a single one from any other country.
