Yep, new uniforms for the SATS staff. Ground handling staff would be in peach coloured uniform while those in the lounge would be in red. In fact the lounge uniforms looked kinda Cathayish.
Noticed that yesterday when I was checking for SQ38. But I am totally unimpressed with the new uniformed staff who looks like she is from PRC. When I tried to check-in at the business class check-in counter, she just point to the other counters where it is manned by the blue-jackets. Didn't even bother to say a word. Maybe she is a newbie.

If she didn't say anything at all, how could you guess that she's from the PRC and not (for example) Singaporean ?

I overheard her talking to her colleague in mandarin, and the accent is definitely not Singaporean or Malaysian. Nothing prejudice against the PRC, they are generally more reserve when they have to communicate in english.
another minus point for an sq experience. i think the kebaya motive CAAS always complement the overall sq experience in changi. they should have made arrangements with CAAS to require those employees dealing with sq desks used the old kebaya uniform just like other airlines.

Agreed. It is a deliberate move away from SQ. I supposed the CAAS staff will no longer have travel perks with SQ. That is definitely a demotivation factor.
Yup, that's SATS alright. It's a corporate move to distance themselves from their former parents, SIA. Now, they are a private entity of their own. Although, I believe the majority of SATS shareholders are SIA stockholders.
The old timers are still entitled to their travel benefits for the time being.
I still think that the sale of SATS is something that SIA will come to regret in the long run.
