  • SQ in Italy

I've read something about a SIN-MXP-ORD... it would be possible? And i also read (it isn't impossible) that in FCO were talking about a double daily FCO-SIN with A380 I think it isn't impossible, they only have a twice-weekly or three times a week service with 777-200ER!!!! I think SIN-FCO isn't a profitable route...

Don't know about that route but it SIN-MXP-ORD will be interesting for my year end break to get to ORD on one airplane.

Yes, because in MXP Lufthansa is developping an Hub in MXP (with its subsidiary Lufthansa Italia) and this flight could catch lots of passengers in transit, and also lots of pax for MXP-ORD-MXP.

Aren't those two statements contradictory? You cannot operate A380 in one direction and 772ER in the other.

MXP-ORD? It will be nice but probably wishful thinking.

No, they were talking about a SIN-FCO-SIN 14xw with A380 (all flights)... and I said that now SQ has a 2xw/3xw service to ROME with B777-200ER... and I said that a thing of that is impossible, since SQ hasn't a strong presence in Rome...

              Lost in Translation.

              Let me hazard a guess....

SQMilan heard a rumour that SQ will do 14x weekly SIN-FCO with A380.
His/her reply/opinion was that it is not possible or highly improbable as currently the schedule is only 2 or 3x weekly on a 772ER, and that there is insufficient demand to sustain A380 twice daily.
SQMilan is now seeking the opinion of other SQTalkers, and perhaps check the likelihood of what he/she heard being possible.
F all the way. Settle for J. Usually whY. Sigh.

A proportion of the current load SIN-MXP is also BCN pax. I guess the LH hub system would absorb them.

I think whoever said SQ were going to start double daily A380 to FCO is already a contender for comedian of the year, and whoever said SIN-MXP-ORD is probably related.

Just wondering, is SIN-MXP-ORD really that unlikely/unfeasible? I'm sort of surprised SQ hasn't been able to make ORD work as a destination. But I suppose this routing wouldn't make UA/LH any happier with SQ.

For starters, sin-mxp-ord is not a particularly short way of getting between SIN & ORD
                            ..

I tried out SIN-DME-IAH, it is also not a particularly short way of getting between SIN and IAH. But I still do not think that SIN-MXP-ORD will happen anytime soon.
