  • Singapore Airlines Deal to Boost NZ Profile

    Press Release from Tourism NZ:

Not that SQ need to generate additional passengers for the SIN-AKL route. Flights seem to be consistently full, with December apparently fully booked

They are increasing capacity to double daily for AKL.

I've noticed this year there hasn't been as many SQ sales ex-NZ as I expected, so presumably they are doing okay for loads and yields on the route.

I wish Air New Zealand restarted this route.. I'm keen to try them. I find it odd that SQ could make it work so well but they couldn't :S

I was keen to try their Premium Economy to NZ but they stop flying here before I got the chance.

Am I correct to say that they are the only airline that you can fly RTW on their own metal?

Because there is barely any local traffic, and SQ can feed AKL and CHC with connecting passengers from Europe and Asia, but NZ can't

Not at all odd to me.

NZ has no onward connections, other than to hand pax over to SQ (which also means handing over a significant portion of the fare). Whereas SQ has lots of connections and gets to keep all the fare.

That's great news indeed! Looking forward to making a booking for next year.
