Possible, since SQ would have excess B77Ws when ZRH is converted to a A380 station. SQ has long since intended to terminate MAN as the yields were not very good and with MUC becoming a major hub in Europe, it is possible that SQ would launch flights to MUC and continuing to MAN from there. Something similar to SIN-MXP-BCN perhaps.

This is great news. I wonder if the appointment of Helmut Panke (ex BMW head honcho) has anything to do with it.

        I hope this doesn't affect LH's SIN-MUC services.

Cant see why they would use a 77w with first and business to MAN if the yields are poor?

Could be interesting to fly F or J to MUC from MAN rather than getting the rather shoddy J class on LH intra europe service. I once used to fly to ZRH from MAN on the 747 service but then they stopped people booking - 5th freedom?

            cheers

If this does go ahead there will then be no J or F, yet alone R seats available, for redemption out of the entire UK on SQ. Why not just pull the Krisflyer programme at the same time?

Not sure if they will have rights to ferry pax from MUC-MAN and vice-versa.

Because there is more to Krisflyer than just redemption awards.

There will be, but at the usurious Standard KrisFlyer rates.

SQ launching Singapore - Munich - Manchester!

Singapore Airlines would be launching Singapore-Munich-Manchester 5X weekly from 28th March 2010.

I don't know how to link it, but I have the soft copy of the release which is supposed to be sent to the press. Expect to see it on newspapers tomorrow or the day after.

This is official info already. Not just another rumour. Please go to this website to see the pictures as I don't know how to link it here.

If that is true, then it is rather unusual that ANA shows no SQ328 operating... but award availability on SQ327 coming back from MAN still shows as a 772... connect the dots and good luck to all who try...

                            SIA launch Munich; Manchester re-route

Singapore Airlines starting 28MAR10 launches 5 weekly Singapore – Munich – Manchester 777-300ER service, replaces existing 3 weekly 777-200ER nonstop to Manchester. Also, with the launch of Singapore – Munich sector, codeshare service operated by Lufthansa reduced to 2 weekly.

I'm doing this route on Sunday - well, on the current 200ER anyway and direct. But you know, if I'm going to do this one on Y, I don't mind a stopover in MUC if flying the 77W! Besides, it's not like you land at that much later than the flight today.
