why cant i check in online?

Dear All,

Excited about my lon-sin-akl trip tomorrow (tuesday). Got an sms to check in for sq321. Went to sq and tried internet checkin and it failed...i was unable to check in.

Any ideas for the reason. I am in C and already allocated my seats: just wanted everything to run smoothly.

It could be that SQ's checkin site is down - have you tried calling them?

That occasionally happens to me as well (and only on the ex-LHR flights).

If you're happy with your assigned seat, you can just reply via SMS to the OLCI alert, and that would confirm your checkin, also via SMS.

I have the experiences that if the flight depart at 8:00, I can input the details in the internet check-in in SQ website, however when it go to further step, it said the site is facing difficulties......and it would be fine after 2-3 minutes, like 8:02-8:03. I have experiences it 4 times recently.

What I think is that when the online check-in started at 48hr before the departure, the system will try to allocate everyone a seat according to their preference first, so that in these 2-3 minutes it will have problem to check you in.

Seats are allocated 72 hours before departure, way before OLCI opens.
