Well perhaps if SQ do not want to offer their customers decent connections on sin/bkk they should codeshare with TG on TG409/410 and offer them as options with their website booking engine

Just returned to SIN after taking SQ 632 SIN-BKK-NRT on Fri 10 July and SQ 631 NRT-BKK-SIN on Wed 15 July, in Economy. Was surprised that the loads were full to the brim (or at least 95% in Y) for the SIN-BKK and v.v sectors, while BKK-NRT v.v. had sizeable loads of say 75%. If this is the case, it certainly seems strange that SQ is dropping the BKK-NRT-BKK sectors, esp when there was quite a fair number of Japanese getting on at BKK to NRT and also off at BKK from NRT.

Or perhaps my flights just happened to be an unusual occurance compared to the usual low loads?

Thanks for reporting back, marc - that comfounds me even more why 632 is being dropped if weekday flights are doing that well. On a weekend I'd expect it to fly close to 100% full.

Why can't they keep the flights as weekend + Friday service only like what SQ used to do with SQ606/607 or SQ608/609 (SIN-ICN)?

Surely we will see some adjustments soon on the SIN/BKK route, only 4 flights a day offering poor connections to and from various destinations, it's just so disappointing. 6 x A330's a day would go down well with me

The bangkok schedules are changing again soon, there will be an early morning departure ex-SIN to bkk at 0710, this aircraft will turnaround as the first flight out of BKK to SIN in the mornings, meaning they will no longer park a 777 at BKK for the night. As a result there will be a late night departure from BKK to SIN departing 21.20, arriving 00.45 in SIN.

There is still no decent connection from BKK to SIN and onto SQ227 A380 flight which is annoying for me, I miss the late afternoon BKK to SIN flights for this reason.

Yes, these schedules will take effect from 25 Oct onwards.

For SQ cabin crew, it is bad news as they no longer have any night stop in BKK. All aircrafts will turn around back to SIN on the same day.

It's a welcome option to have a late night flight if ticketed on SQ, however the lack of a late night SIN-BKK option apart from TG still is not ideal imho.

The last two flights I've taken to BKK have been switched over to TG (who know there is a massive demand for after-office hours departures). Since they are overbooked as a result, they are constantly deploying their aging 747s and flying full back to BKK. Constantly overbooked in J throughout, with a few getting soft op-upped to F. They should really introduce F fares because I'm sure they'd get snapped up also.

I have so far diverted two BKK trips to TG and used up my last return SQ segment. Although their lamb/potato combination in Y is like eating a decorated tyre...

The BKK SKL officers also seem to have mixed feelings... I guess it means they go home really late now as it's the last *A connection out of BKK-SIN. The obvious benefit when booked on TG is being able to use the SKL now until departure at half past 7!

                    Kyo,

Truly Agree. I was on BKK-SIN yesterday on J class, and both Y & J was 100% full. First class should be reinstated back on BKK sector.

Yep, that night stop was quite popular with crew. Still, I suppose the savings on no longer having to pay for this will be welcome by the bean counters.

Schedule for, e.g., week of January 4-10 (Mon-Sun), all flights daily:

                        SQ 973 BKK-SIN 9:40 - 13:05
                        SQ 975 BKK-SIN 12:40 - 16:05
                        SQ 979 BKK-SIN 18:40 - 22:05
                        SQ 981 BKK-SIN 21:20 - 00:45 +1

                        SQ 970 SIN-BKK 7:10 - 8:35
                        SQ 972 SIN-BKK 9:40 - 11:05
                        SQ 976 SIN-BKK 15:30 - 16:55
                        SQ 978 SIN-BKK 18:50 - 20:15

My flight BKK-SIN on 1/4 keeps jumping around in terms of time. I'm now on the earliest flight of the day, and I'd rather be on the latest flight of the day, as I'm connecting to SQ 12 and Mr. Megatop will be back in Thailand for that part of the trip.

Why are you on the earliest flight of the day?

Which flight are you on / want to be on?

Can't ask SQ to switch you over?

Hmm, no - SQ632 not showing up on the ANA tool.

SQ978 is too early for me most of the time. Looks like I will be moving all my BKK trips over to TG.
Recently has a chance to try out this same route with TG. It seem that their 777-200 is very much better maintain vs the SQ one. The plane are much quite then SQ's one.

Very often they deploy their 747s also, cscs1956. Very high pax load and overbooked especially on Friday nights on SIN-BKK.
