  • Roof Space in the 777

I was looking at some pictures of an SQ 777 recently and noticed two separate, red cut lines, for emergency use in the roof. Then I remembered that there is a crew rest area up there. What surprised me is the distance between these two sets is nearly half the entire fuselage.

Is the crew rest are that big, i.e., virtually half the length of the aeroplane? Are there any photo's so I can see what it looks like?

No. The forward one is for the pilot rest area and the aft one is for the cabin crew rest area.

Only the 77W has crew rest (both flight crew and cabin crew) above the cabin ceiling. The cabin crew rest on 772ER is below while the flight crew rest is on main deck.

WOW, I had no idea there was a rest area on top of the cabin ceiling for the crew on a 77W!! I just flew YVR-HKG-YVR and arrived back today on a AC 008 (77W aircraft) and was wondering were the cabin crew rested.....14hrs outbound and 11.5hrs on the return!

        Cheers.

If I'm not mistaken, you can find the door to the Cabin Crew Rest Area at the rear, just left of the galley in the 77Ws. It's not a very big door and unless you read the sticker signs, it's hard to notice that it's actually a door. I think it reads something like "no entry except crew" or something like that. Doesn't exactly say it's the crew rest area but you can pretty much guess it.
