  • Rare Op-Up to J both ways SIN-SYD-SIN!

Thank You Singapore Airlines for an early Christmas Present!

    I flew SIN-SYD and SYD-SIN and was op-uped twice from Y to J!

    SIN-SYD SQ219
    SYD-SIN SQ232

Flights were oversold in Y both ways. I was upgraded at the gate (ah yes, the blissful sound of the loud beep when they scan your BP). Maybe it helped that I was also booked on "S" Class fare bucket and was traveling alone.

Incidentally, when I was in the SYD SKL, I noticed that one of the SQ A380s parked across on the other end of the airport. I wonder if it was under maintenance?

I have the impressions that you are always in F (or the highest class in the plane). So how can you get op-up? Are you one of those who dreams of being upgraded to pilot's lap?

            That would have been fun.

I wish I were. But I am often in C and no op-up to F, ever.

Congratulations! That is indeed rare - but for the Christmas season, it's not unexpected

                    Today's SQ910 to MNL for example is -43 in Y, -6 in J - they're definitely upgrading

I had lunch with 2 pilots last Sun and was told that the tray tables in the Airbus cockpit in front of the pilots can hold 62kgs......

Are you saying that I should loose weight to get below 62kgs?

I better stop before it gets excessively OT.

It sure doesn't hurt to be at the right place at the right time. Having said that though, I've never received an op-up on any SQ sectors I have taken in J or Y.
