  • SIN-SYD ticket bought on Internet from outside SIN?

I am planning to fly ARN(Sweden)-SIN-SYD.
    I will use my Eurobonus points ARN-SIN, but need to buy a ticket for SIN-SYD. Can anyone tell me please;

1.Is it possible to buy a ticket SIN-SYD through for example an internet travelagency based in SIN eventhough I live in Sweden?

    2. What price would you expect (as cheap as possible=economy)?

    Thanks,

    Tina

Yes, it will be possible to buy from a internet travel agency based in SIN. You won't be charged in Kroner, but Singapore Dollars as this ticket is SITI (sold inside, ticketed inside) Singapore. Do note that if you're planning to make this journey in one go without stopping over, make sure you leave enough of a connection time as there is no protection in case your ARN-SIN flight arrives late and you misconnect.

No idea about the prices though. Hope this helps

You can shop around, but at least you can check what SQ website has to offer for SIN-SYD round trip. I just quickly went to the site, and for the month of February 2009, the round trip fares maximum stay 1 month is a total of SGD1298 or it's around SEK7045.
You can also check how much if you pay ARN-SIN-ARN from your travel agent. If cheaper than SEK7045... may be you should try to use the award miles to fly SIN-SYD-SIN (but I don't really know about EuroBonus FFP).

If you decide to pay for SIN-SYD-SIN, you should be better off booking the A380 flight - new plane and better IFE than 744.

Beware though of SQ219/220. Its been flown recently with the SY*-series 773

This is a url for an on=line travel agent in Singapore.

            http://www.airfares.com.sg/

I have used them and they were OK.

Be aware that the SQ site will normally come up with the cheapest fare with many restrictions and you need to look at the details to find something more flexible.

Everyone has assumed that you will use the miles for a return ticket and then pay for another return ticket but your post does not really say that. One way tickets are a massive premium compared to return.

OK, sorry should be more clear; I am not buying a one way ticket.
My plan is to use the SAS-EB-points ARN-SIN return and buy a ticket SIN-SYD return.

Thanks for the link to the Travel Agency in SIN.

My answer above assumed that you are doing round trip.

So, you should compare the price ARN-SIN-ARN and SIN-SYD-SIN. The reason is that, if ARN-SIN-ARN has reasonable price, and the fares is allowing mileage accrual, you are better off paying for ARN-SIN-ARN. Earning more miles, and I am sure you will use less miles for redemption SIN-SYD-SIN.

Are you sure you meant SQ219/220 not SQ231/232? SQ 233 is a guaranteed 773 and SQ 231 is a 744, sometimes 773. From my past experience, SQ219 is the same plane as SQ11 for LAX. They use the same place for SQ219 8hrs later, and SQ11 is always a 744 for now. I had that situation once and a friend of mine had the exact same situation as well. Do they use 773 for SQ11?

                    The SQ11/12 has always been a 744.

                    Cheers.
