Singapore to New Zealand

SIN-AKL-SIN or SIN-CHC-SIN is now SGD2342 for a 2 month trip in Y?? I remember they used to have SGD900 fares for 4-to-go back in (and as recently as in) 2006!! (Granted the fare classes are different, but still...)

Is this only SQ or industry wide? I'm worried for SQ because of certain decisions they made in the past.

It was a general comment, rather than specifically about SQ.

Air NZ has already dropped frequencies on many routes, and downgauged from 747 to 777 or 777 to 767 where practical. It is a sad sight to see so many NZ 747's parked up at AKL these days.
