  • Changes to 'My Bookings' functionalities

Good Morning - my question being is it possible to review / change J class seat selections on the SQ website, I have my SQ booking reference and am able to access my booking online, however I do not appear to be able to access an interactive seat map. Appreciate any advice you guys may have.

Only if you booked your ticket online at www.singaporeair.com . If booked via call centre or travel agent you must phone up to select your seat.

I dunno it's co-incidence or not, but there's other way to do seat selection online even we booked them via TA.
But you must have at least one confirmed online booking via www.singaporeair.com. It doesn't have yours, can be your friend's or others'.
I have did this many times for my nephew tickets or my non online booking tickets.
First, you or your friend must access your online booking via www.singaporeair.com. And when make seat selection, please open this page on other tab or window. The new tab will show your or your friend's flight seat selection.
At the original tab or window, please back to "manage my booking" section, and then input your TA agent PNR number and your name. After the Schedule came out, go to the seat selection tab or window, and refresh this window. And whala.... your seat selection for TA booked PNR came out... you can choose your seat now, and save them.
It's also work for meal selection.
            It's always worked for me...

That's a really good tip! Thanks Dent@SUB for sharing with us. And, actually, there's no need for you to have other valid online booking in order to achieve this.

Will there be SQ lurkers around? Not sure if they will close the loophole if they learnt of this.

hmmm... never succeed with a non valid online booking.... because without a valid online booking, the seat selection option never came out on that booking...
slacker do you have any trick for this?

Btw, hope SQ not close this loophole, it also help them to lighten their call center work.

It's quite simple. Just retrieve your booking from the SQ website. Then, open a new tab, and go to https://www.singaporeair.com/saa/en_...ectionItin.jsp for seat selection or https://www.singaporeair.com/saa/en_...estDisplay.jsp for meal selection.

I think that they only allow prior seat & meal selection for website bookings, so as to encourage more pple to book from the website instead of thru a TA (maybe to save on commission cost?). Hence, I am not sure if they will close this loophole if this loophole is too well known.

Also, if things go wrong for your seat or meal selection (for e.g. if your requested meal is not loaded), they can easily push the blame to you for making selection 'illegally'.

                        hei... it's work....
hmm... must save those links for future... just in case I don't have any online booking anymore with SQ (and they still haven't close this loophole ....)
                        Thanks slacker

btw, I think I've opened a pandora box here... hope it doesn't cause to much damage...

                          You r welcome..

Not sure if I will be flamed for suggesting this.. Maybe we should just delete our post, so as to prevent the detection from SQ lurkers? But then, by doing this, we are going against the spirit of this forum by sharing information. However, if we 'let the whole world know' this, this loophole will be closed, and then no one will benefit. What a dilemma!

Just realised that if the booking is waiting to be ticketed, you can also see what seats are available, but if you try to select and confirm the seat change - the screen will blank out at Seat Selection Summary.
