i have purchase numerous e-tickets online and never been requested to produce the credit card that was used for purchase, during check-in (even though i made a point to carry the card in my wallet when travelling).
recently, i purchased some e-tickets online for mi/sq flights using credit card, and today my credit card issuer informed me that the credit card's security has been compromised, thus card is blocked. the replacement card will bear a different number.
now... we always see "IF PAYMENT IS MADE VIA CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD (ONLY APPLICABLE FOR INTERNET SALES), PLEASE PRESENT CREDIT AND/OR DEBIT CARD (S) USED FOR THIS TRAVEL FOR VERIFICATION PRIOR TO YOUR DEPARTURE."
do i need to call up silkair/sq office to inform them that the card used to purchase ticket has been blocked and replaced with one bearing a different number?
or i just bring both the old card (that was used to purchase the e-tickets but its now been blocked) and new replacement card. after all, even if the check-in staff were to ask to present the "old" credit card, i can always show it to them ... and they would not "swipe" the card anyway or do any electronic verification... ?
