Full plane on all flights - CGK to SIN during F1 period

Hi folks,

My travel agent just told me that SQ has a full plane on all flights CGK to SIN - Thurs to Saturday (and most flights on Sunday). Looks like the F1 race is very popular with Indonesians !! I checked KVS, indeed true.

When is the F1? September 30th, Tuesday, is the end of Ramadhan. October 1 and 2 will be two days national holidays. I know usually many will take their longer holiday.

F1 is on 26-28 Sept !

Could the upcoming Hari Raya be another factor adding to the high loads during this period?

TH flights from Singapore to Bangkok were sold out months ago. I was expecting to have to head to Europe and couldn't get out. SQ and LH flights were full to Germany a couple of months ago also, but generally speaking they are full anyway.

It was possible to get flights to HKG but that was about it.

Expectations are for ~40k visitors to arrive Friday-Saturday.

its true that the full wekend flights ex-JKT are due the upcoming hari raya travel as many will leave for overseas trips starting this friday - and its coincides with the F1 race here. In fact, flights ex-KUL this weekend are also full already.

Including my colleague, who booked some deal involving a hotel room at some high floor and tickets to the event. (His first SQ flight too, and on the A380. )

I'm dark green with envy.

I was just wondering if SQ could use the 747s on the CGK route temporarily to accommodate the people who are in a waitlist which seems like a lot of people to me as many of my friends are not able to get out of Jakarta for the Hari Raya.

Does the Indonesian government allow this at all?
