That's okay. SQ hiked fares instead, e.g., the BKK-SIN route.

Sure. Any reissue will result in recalculation of taxes, fees & sometimes the exchange rate if purchased in a different currency.

Ok I don't quite understand how some routes will not have the surcharge reduced. Are they really saying that if you are flying to the US or Europe the fuel is more expensive than if you are flying to Australia.

SURE! SQ will happily refund your $4 after you pay $75 processing fees...

SQ fares ex-Australia went up almost $50 this week due to currency fluctuations as the fuel surcharge is in USD. Surely with oil price levels now at those of a year ago, these surcharges need a significant reduction! I'm talking at least a 50 USD reduction per sector on SIN/AUST routes.

                              Just a quick question,
I did a dummy booking for AKL-SIN-ICN round-way on SQ web and it says tax + surcharge is NZD77.60. Did New Zealand authority forced SQ to embed the fuel surcharge in the fare? If so, if one wants to make a mileage award seat originating from AKL to ICN via SIN, one only pays NZD77.60??
