  • Can I buy a separate ticket nested within another itinerary?

    Hey guys/girls I've one question that maybe a bit confusing...so here is my Itinerary:
    1. 06/10/2008 ---> CGK-SIN
    2. 12/10/2008 ---> SIN-TPE
    3. 16/10/2008 ---> TPE-CGK

    So the problem is I've bought Ticket from SQ website... then on the 6th October 2008.. I would like to make another booking again on the same day and same Airline SQ to Penang and my question is, could I buy one more ticket from SQ website for one way to Penang from Singapore??? are there any problem wth SQ? And Actually Iv'e tried to make the second itinerary for CGK-SIN-PEN(oneway)- SIN - TPE - CGK then the total price is two times from the price from my first Itinerary...

    Thank you

    Why shouldn't it work? Just buy SIN-PEN-SIN and off you go ^^

      There shouldn't be any problem.
      I have had a RT ticket flown halfway then traveled on another itinerary several times before with no problems.

        I've called SQ office in Jakarta .... If I've two different Itinerary on the same day they told me that I couldn't do that... They afraid me that one of my Itinerary will be canceled from their computer...

        thanks

          They might have misunderstood you; if you had two itineraries leaving from the same city on the same day at departure times close to each other, one of them might be cancelled.

          Did you explain that on the first itinerary, you were arriving in SIN and not leaving until the 12th, and that in between those daes, you wanted to take a side-trip somewhere else?

          As others have said, side trips are not a violation. I've done it myself as well: e.g., my main trip is LHR-SIN-MNL, but on the way, I stop in SIN and take a side trip to BKK or HKG with my brother who lives in SIN.

            They must have misunderstood you.
            If you have same day CGK-SIN-xxx and CGK-SIN-yyy the computer might detect this.
            But from your original post, you will be in SIN for couple of days. Thus, you can do SIN-PEN-SIN on a separate ticket.

                Dear SQ Lurker,
                I believe the officer is incorrect, right?
                Sincerely,
                The PITA

                  If it will put your mind at ease I currently have 2 nested tickets within a RTW that also includes 2 SQ flights. The 2 nested tickets are on SQ/MI. None has been cancelled and I am not expecting any problems whatsoever.

                    Yes ,tou can do nested itineraries. My friend just did it with his two flights a mere 2 hours apart - same airline, same airport, separate tickets
