Krisworld Interruptus

On my recent SIN-PEK-SIN on 77W,

Krisworld was switched on only after 30 minutes of flying and switched off 30 minutes before landing

Is this a crew dependent exercise or SQ policy?

On my recent flights I had a few different experiences
JFK-FRA turned off when we landed FRA-SIN I was not using it when we landed, SIN-EWR it was turned off about 30 minutes

On every flight it was turned on soon after takeoff.

My recent AKL-PEK had gate to gate IFE ^ (switched on even before doors shut at AKL and switched off only when we reached the gate in PEK)

Why can't they keep Krisworld on gate to gate?

Are they worried we might not want to evacuate in an emergency?

My SIN-SYD flight had Krisworld on when we left the gate, I still remember playing a game of Reversi with my friend while the aircraft was still taxing.
