Hello everyone, I'm a new member here so please be gentle!
Basically my query is this:
We have a great escapade RTW ticket bought through Virgin, for July/August.
I'm just wondering whether anyone on here knows about or has experience of the downtoan check in with Singapore airlines, on Orchard Road in Singapore.
Basically we're flying on the A380 (SIN-SYD) and would really like to get some of the 'pair' window seats upstairs, we're thinking that using the downtown check-in 48 hours before is our best option.
However, the SQ website says that we will 'have to present baggage for acceptance' - does this mean that we would have to do without our suitcases once checked in?! Don't think we'll bother until the day of the flight if this is the case!
Also, I asked the customer services team at Virgin about online check-in for our VS flights and they said we can't do it because we have more than 4 sectors on the ticket and will have to check in normally at the airport, this is the same reason we can't look at seat maps etc on the Virgin website.
I had assumed that this would apply to all our flights with VS, SQ and Air NZ?
