SQ26 / SQ25 - 77W?

    SQ26 / SQ25 - 77W?

    Hi Guys,

    It's to my understanding that SQ is replacing its Megatops with the 77W. I was thinking about going to NYC next Summer, so I did a dummy booking on SQ just now and I found that SQ26 SIN - FRA - JFK are still the Megatop even next year..

    Anyone know if this will ever happen, or I just have to take the 744?

    SQ is replacing its 744 fleet with a combination of 77W and A380s.

    For SIN-FRA-JFK, the eventual replacement aircraft is most likely the A380. However, it is not expected to be upgauged till the second tranche of A380 deliveries.

    At the rate deliveries are occuring, one is probably looking at 2010 and beyond for that to happen. so yes, 744 for some time more to come.

        Enjoy the 744s while they last... Besides, you are not precluded from flying other SQ routes if you want to enjoy the 77W/A380 experience so bad.

          I fly the 77W quite often actually. Thats the reason why I prefer to fly the 77W vis-a-vis the 744s. Flying Y, the large screen is certainly a huge plus...
