  • Entertainment system failure for SQ853

I've taken this flight today and the kris entertainment system failed on us today! Thing doesn't get better even with multiple resets.

The pax sitting beside me mentioned that this happened 7 times out of his last 10 trips from HK-SIN on 772/3 series.

This is the first time i've encountered this. Anyone encounter simiar situation? I suppose nothing can be done if there is no technical crew on board.

I had the problem from LHR to SIN - after many resets we got a voucher for USD$75 each to be spent in Krisshop.

I believe SQ853 does not run HKG/SIN, it does CAN/SIN, and it does not run today..
Perhaps you were referring to SQ863 HKG/SIN? B777-300.

Anyway, the cabin crew should have automatically offered some form of compensation, as I believe the reason many people fly SQ is for their great KrisWorld entertainment system.

Really sorry to hear of your experience tris...

The compensation I believe you're referring to are called Service Recovery Vouchers. The cabin crew would only have enough onboard to give to the PCL & JCL pax. For YCL pax, I believe Customer Affairs will be contacting you. If nothing happens, I suggest you call them up to complain...
Have you checked your blind spot lately?

          Yes. It's SQ863.

I did receive the voucher. Better than nothing but i guess definitely i feel that something can be done to ensure such hassle to passenger is kept to the min. I believe the crews are too busy to reset each and every passenger entertainment system and have to apologise on serveral occasions.

The time KrisWorld failed in the entire aircraft on my flight (SQ 15 SFO-ICN B777-200ER), no service recovery vouchers were given. Just a small gift (a pen with SQ logo in a box) and apology letter waiting for us on the jetway in ICN.

I received a service recovery voucher of around USD 100 for a PVG - SIN trip. You probably should receive more than USD 100 as your trip is longer.

I would have definitely asked for compensation.

This happened in 2003 around SARS period. Perhaps the recovery voucher procedure was not up yet at the time? Anyway I wanted to catch up on sleep so it didn't bother me too much.
