SQ and Scoot flights were disrupted today after a volcano on the Indonesian Island of Flores, Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki, erupted.

Thankfully, these days the risks of flying through volcanic ash are well known, with the most high profile incident probably being BA9, the 747 which lost all four engines while flying through an the ash of an Indonesian volcanic eruption in 1982.
