The SIN-ZRH leg isn't very useful to me as a passenger who would be connecting to London (unless I decide to add a pricey ZRH overnight stay to my itinerary). But the ZRH-SIN leg is excellent when I have to stay in SIN and want to minimize the fatigue at arrival and the wait to get into my hotel room.

I think the question is more one of allocation of resources. The short-term question cannot be: What is the best aircraft to send to AMS? The short-term question must be: To which destinations should we send our limited number of 777-300ERs?

Starting in 2009, SQ will begin replacing 777-200s with A330-300s. Since the A330s will all be fitted in a regional configuration and flown on regional routes while some of the oldest 777s are configured for long-haul, SQ may reconfigure some of the youngest short-haul 777s into long-haul aircraft. Presumably, they would get the new seats then.

One may presume and hope but from what I've heard one wouldn't want to hold one's breathe!

But yes, let's hope the A333 brings about a new standard in regional hard products.

That is my constant grip with the regional 777s and no AVOID. Seats are tired in C Class and not that comfortable on a red eye flight to PVG. Hope to get better value for money on such North Asia routes.

Singapore_Air you have early information on SQ. Always look forward to your updates on this website.

Seems like nothing much to look forward to based on what you have heard...

Will A333 be 3-class or 2-class? If 2-class, then it is unlikely to be deployed to the 3-class route like PVG.

If you take the original SQ346 departing at 1am and arrive in ZRH 7am, would not be a problem for connection to London, right? Unless I misunderstood that you are only looking at the new schedule as the option.

Sorry for the confusion , yes, my comment was only about the new flights. I agree, the original SIN-ZRH flight was OK for onward connections to London.
