  • Anything special onboard for New Year's?

I'm just wondering if there will be any "special celebrations" on SQ flights on New Year's. Like a special menu, decorations, activities on board?

If I remember right, they did have some sort of special celebration a year or so back didn't they? I'm pretty sure they offered a special menu at least.

but otherwise, SQ does nothing sepcial for New Year as far as I know.

The decorations are already up on board:

Hopefully, by the new year, they'll get rid of the tacky Xmas decorations.

Does anyone knowwhy SQ is pulling the 777W out of the SIN-TPE-LAX route in Jan? Why would they do that since its almost chinese new year?

Was on a flight from Seoul on 31st Dec and cross into 1st Dec probably in 03/04.
There was some wishing everyone Happy New Year but no champagne to welcome the New Year or anything...but I was in Y so it might have been different in premier classes!

Because SQ expect to make more money deploying it to MXP.

I think they'll still be there then, if only to annoy the miserable sods who don't like them.

I flew on New Year's Day once and they were up then, and hardly tacky either, I love the little things like the Christmas decorations that SQ does

What would be SQ's first departure on new year's day (taking into account time zones?)

My guess would be SQ282 AKL-SIN which departs at 0110

Probably right. Is there a midnight departure ex CHC?

Will we see heart-shaped balloons and teddy bears on 14 February?
