I guess that partially explains why some A380 routes like CDG are being downguaged to a 77WR. I wonder if this will eventually hold for US routes like FRA/JFK unless flights are always full.

I had two friends who took pics of their A380 trip from JFK to FRA and I don't think the A380 is relatively full. Probably it will go 350ULR when it goes nonstop after delivery and maybe a 77WR via FRA. We'll see.

IIRC, there will be a gap between deleasing and the new birds coming into service. According to their annual report, SQ expects to retire 4 A380s (SKA being the first), while receiving 2 new ones by end of AY2017/2018.

Think you're saying they go through heavy maintenance and then get their liveries taken out. Hopefully SKJ will be next, soon.

9V-SKI is scheduled to return from Dubai on 14JUN17 as SQ8898 with STA: 1440 LT. Most likely she is in standard livery.

9V-SKJ has not logged any movements for a long time as well.

Is SIA outsourcing their A380 maintenance checks ?

9V-SKI will be flying to DXB today (07MAY17). Departing at 1705 as SQ8898.

I guess she will undergo maintenance there (similar to -SKP at AUH).

Also, I guess that would also mean the end of the SG50 liveries? -SKJ is said to have been repainted already.
