Seems SQ doesnt maintain its cabin interior well enough or fix any broken pieces fast enough. I had the adjustable headrest that its so loose that when you out it up, it just slides down and that was in PEY and it was a new aircaft then - SKY. And on another flight on a A350, the headphone jack was not working despite the crew trying with 3 dffreny sets and finally had to use a simple earpiece from EY and only one side have the sound coming out from it. And these are newer aircrafts, and had an experience with a loose armrest on a 77W. Amongst others, in another 77W, the toilet main light dont come on after locking the toilet latch. There have been similiar reports in this forum on unserviceable cabin/seat issues.

Just came off jfk to Frankfurt on sq25. No foot rests in economy as they usually always had. Did they change the aircraft. It feels a little bit older than the one I have been flying for the last four years. I hope they upgrade this aircraft soon. Feels long in the tooth now

Being grounded for 7-8 months for cabin refit and even with some maintenance is still too long a time for a plane as it costs several million a month in financial cost.

I was having the same feeling! As if the bird was dismantled within the hanger.....

SKT went in for maintainance and refit in Feb this year. SKS is last October.

According to mainlymiles.com, SKT is almost ready for a test flight.

Quite different in terms of scale - QF just reconfigured the upper deck (and resurfaced the lower deck essentially) and there was no maintenance involved. SQ on the other hand, ripped the entire cabins (lower and upper), rewire and reconfigure them, combining with a heavy check apparently.

Although I can't imagine what took it so long for SKT, QF's scale is quite a bit lower (and with Airbus team working on that, it might help a bit further).

Does the MOU include a provision for SQ to utilize MH's hangars to perform maintenance? A possibility if hangars in SIN are currently full.

SKF actually just returned to service in Aug after 50 days maintainance

So guess something else went wrong ?

The version 1 can refit to only 6 suites. If they keep it on main deck should be easily in refit I think. The 2006 seats is too old already.
