MEL-SIN on 773 - worth paying for F?

Noobie to the site - hello all! Greetings from Edinburgh.

Going to be in MEL in January '08, and flying to SIN on 10 Jan. SQ238 is really the only option, as far as timings go, which is unfortunate, as 10 Jan is one of only a few dates in January when that flight is not operated by the 744..

Anyhoo... wanted to treat myself to at least J on this sector (having only flown SQ Y for many years now). Given the allocated aircraft, is it worth paying the extra 600 AUD for F?

SQ238 is showing in the schedules as a 773 on 10JAN for the moment.

As I have not flown First Class on SQ I can't comment on whether the extra $600 is worth it. However you will not be disappointed in Business Class for the relatively short daytime flight. The regional business class seats are good enough for lounging around or even a mid afternoon siesta.

Academically - for an extra $600 you'll get a bigger seat, higher quality champagnes (dp and krug rather than Charles/Piper Hiedsieck), bigger food portions (including caviar if applicable for this flight), a smaller crew-pax ratio, and extra miles/PPS Value.

Only you can decide if all that is worth an extra $600.

Hmmm $600 more isnt that much.....but then again....its regional business class if its on a 773.....Put it this way, personally, if it was a 744 flight, id pay to fly F if i could afford it. Althought business would do me fine aswell

I was thinking along similar lines...

I have the option to fly SIN-HKG a few days later, and so if I'm going to splash out on F, that would be the route to do it. It's shorter (therefore cheaper) and on a 300ER..

300ER is your best bet if you wanna go F. Do it!

If you want to experience F (note: not R) - the best aircraft, IMHO, to do it on is the 744. So choose SQ2 or 866 (i think)

Best seats are 2C/D ... there is a difference between rows 1 and 2.. that many don't know about

The difference can only be seen in bed mode ...and unless you are gonna sleep.... any couple-seat will do just fine for a HKG flt
