The seat map of SQ A380 shows a blank seat at 47D...which mean that 48D should have one of the best seats in the house!

But why is there a empty space?

Seat 48D on A380?

Hi all,

With all the hoopla that is A380 flying SIN-SYD route, it's been rather difficult getting business class seats on this plane. I have therefore booked myself a economy seat on this flight

Thanks to Jubilee777, I have selected the seat 48D - which I agree, looks to be the best amongst the economy class seats.

Can someone confirm that indeed this is the case? That there is no one sitting in front of you? Either it's my good luck, or not many people know this yet, I manage to get this seat on both SIN-SYD and SYD-SIN!

The absence of a seat in front of it has been confirmed by StarG:

Some corrections and additional information from our SQ angel :
- The Chef's Surprise on my flight was Chilled Mint Pea with Creme Fraiche.
- The Check Trainer's new title is Inflight Auditor.
- There is indeed no 47D in Economy, as it is where the emergency escape hatch of the crew bunk is located at.
- 11A/K and 1A/F are the seats to avoid.
- A breakfast table is available in bed mode upon request.
- There are no need for airbags for SQ's premium seats as the pitch and width are large enough.
- The design of the sliding doors to the Suites: the opaque part of the door is hidden (roller style) in the door frame. It will deploy only when one shuts the door. Otherwise there will be no windows to the side of the door if it had a fixed hard door board. Very clever design.
