As per my "Fantasy Trip" thread.

When Mum & Dad are flying home on SQ 15 SFO-SIN There is a stop in Seoul, could someone tellme what time they land here and how long they are here for?

Also are they allowed off the plane? to strech and clean up..

As they are in F will the F lounge be open. and can they take a shower to freshen up?

If they can, can they book the shower to cut down on waiting time?

Is the F lounge close to the gate?

    Cheers,
    Colin...............

I was on SQ15 ICN-SIN a couple of weeks ago. They will be on the ground for 1.5 hours.
Yes they are allowed to be off the plane. They will have to go through transit procedures as well.

Yes the lounge is not far away from the gate so they can take a shower if there is a space avaliable in the lounge.

Not sure if you can book the shower facility. I really doubt it.

Actually, I believe you must get off the plane. Is that not correct?

yes you must get off the plane because they do a whole clean up after such a long flight and refill blankets and what not.

                Some suggestions:
                - At SFO, if your parents prefer to go to SKL, after security check, go to the right (I think Duty Free Shop at left and at right is Gucci store). You will see the door for UA Red Carprt Club. You have to turn right and left up the ramp to go to SKL and Eva Air lounges. The reason why I give this direction, because SKL is a bit hidden. (Not so sure whether your parents want to do "lounge hopping" )

                - Nothing spectacular about the lounge. Don't have a high hope. There will be some foods as you can see in some of the pictures in the Lounge threads. Ice cream is available by asking the attendant. Same for champagne. There will be two bathrooms. On the left is regular bathroom, and on the right would be the bathroom and shower room. The towels are hidden somewhere.

                - On board, I would get them seats 2CD. According to DeltaFlyingProf, seat 1CD is a bit shorter when in full bed mode. Enjoy the lunch, and go to bed. Told the FAs for a wake up call for light meals. Well it also serves as a jetlag beater. It's afternoon Singapore time... thus it's better for the body to adjust by not sleeping for the rest of the flight to SIN.

                - Arriving at ICN, all pax must deplane. There will be staff who announce "TRANSIT". And she/he will give you sticker and a transit card. Fortunately, I notice that the security is just near SQ gate. Thus, right there no sweat. Then after security check, take escalator upstairs and to go to SKL you have to walk back toward the main area. (I think usually SQ15 arrives at Gate 39) There is a walkway to make it faster to walk towards some Korean food counters or even KFC. SKL door will be on the right after the end of the last walkway. (If you see Gucci store, it means you have passed the lounge).

The staff will check your BP, and as F pax, she will lead you to the lift. Once in the second floor, out from the lift, go to the left (if you go to the right than you will fin the bar and following the corridor will take you to the C side). Generally, no one uses the only shower room in the F lounge. When you enter the lounge, you see the computer on the right, and you go left between the buffet table. Then turn left. The first two are just regular bathroom, and the last door is the shower room. Usually the door is not closed all the way to show it's unoccupied.

You can take your time at the lounge. Usually the staff will go around asking the pax when the time to board comes.

You can see what served at the lounge from the lounge pictures. Green tea ice cream. Or on Friday, they offer a special food offering. Last time it was hainan chicken rice.

Hope your parents will have great trip!

CGK, I'm sure the OP will greatly appreciate the very detailed help!

That said, I'm not sure if the elderly folks will remember that much. I guess they'll play by ear and depend on the lounge dragons for guidance.

                    Thanks to all!!

Thanks to all for your feedback!!

                    The info is invaulable....

CGK.....The High Flyer's response is exactly right, both mum and dad are greatly appreciative of you detailed response..

I have printed it off and they are taking it with them as well as quite a few other responses from other threads here.

So if any of you see a 70's odd couple wondering around an airport terminal somewhere in the world with dozens of SQ TALK headed printed sheets with your username written all over them don't be shy and say hello

I had to have a laugh today because its their last day of holidays with me and they head back home again this arvo.
Dad wanted to me to explain the term you lot use here called "Lounge Dragon"
                    from the above posts.

so about half an hour ago he grabbed me whilst helping mum pack because he was writing down heaps of notes for some last min info. there on the top of this printed posts from here he had written in red pen and underlined
" WATCH OUT FOR THE LIZARDS IN SANFRAN" :hello2

He was concerned about this until l told him the LIZARDS won't be a prob because you are on PAID F tic's and they only eat you if you try and sneak in on a C or low status FF membership.

None the less it made my day,
                    Parents, don't you love them!!

                    Cheers,
                    Colin............
