  • Lounge access on arrival

    Hello,

I was just wondering if I could get access into the SKL in Singapore again with a torn (just the smaller portion left) boarding pass after deplaning?

No, you can only access the SKL if you have a flight departing Singapore.

    And welcome to SQTalk.
All opinions shared are my own, and are not necessarily those of my employer or any other organisation of which I'm affiliated to.

Silver Kris Lounges have always been departure lounges, not arrival lounges. Which is sad because I'm sure many business travellers would love to have a shower upon arrival, before heading off for their meetings, unless of course everybody has the luxury of checking into his/her hotel before going for afternoon meetings. Now, if only there were more lounges like the Virgin Revivals Lounge...

Until we see whether T3 offers up some arrivals options, there is also the option to pay for shower access at some of the lounges (unless the pax has Priority Pass membership, for example). The T2 option (the Plaza Premium Lounge) has shower rooms that unfortunately get quite steamy even when the showers are set to temperatures that are relatively cool -- not very comfortable if you have to change into business clothing.

My concern lies not so much with showering at Changi but at overseas airports. I'm not sure how many airports around the world have similar pay-per-use lounges or even designated arrival lounges (like the Virgin Revivals Lounge).

But for SQ travellers, it's SIN that's relevant, no? VS and BA offer their arrival lounges (to premium pax, their highest tier, and selected partner passengers) only at their home airport. AA and AC offer similar lounges at LHR, but it's not clear to me that there is a long-haul SQ destination where SQ earns a disproportionate share of its profits and where the relevant flights arrive before the first meetings of the day.

              HI jjbp3,

I was looking at things from the perspective of a Singapore-based SQ traveller. Our overnight, long-haul flights to European destinations like AMS, CDG, FRA, LHR, ZRH arrive at daybreak. So do the red-eye flights to Australian destinations like BNE and SYD.

Of course, some of these destinations are served by multiple flights ex-SIN, in which case the arrivals take place in the afternoon or early evening, eg LHR, SYD.
